About the Role

We are seeking a Tax Operations Senior Associate to join our growing tax team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in tax documentation, withholding, and information reporting who enjoys solving complex operational problems in a fast-paced environment.

The Tax Operations Senior Associate will play a key role in executing and improving core tax operations processes across thousands of funds and investors on the Belltower platform. Working closely with tax, operations, and engineering teams, you'll help ensure that tax documentation, withholding, reporting, and compliance workflows are executed accurately and efficiently.

This is not a traditional tax role-you'll combine technical tax knowledge with operational execution while helping improve scalable tax processes that support a modern investment platform. Success in this role comes from being curious, embracing continuous improvement, and using technology to build more scalable and efficient tax operations.ย

You will:
  • Execute core tax operations workflows, including tax documentation (Forms W-8, W-9, and W-8IMY), intermediary allocations, withholding, and year-end information reporting (Forms 1099, 1042-S, and 8805)
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile tax withholding calculations and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Investigate and resolve tax notices by gathering supporting documentation, researching issues, and coordinating with internal teams
  • Monitor reporting deadlines, identify exceptions, and escalate issues that may impact tax compliance or delivery timelines
  • Collaborate with tax, fund accounting, operations, engineering, and offshore teams to support day-to-day execution and continuously improve tax processes
  • Document procedures, assist with testing system enhancements, and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve tax workflows
You have:
  • 2-5 years of experience in tax operations, information reporting, public accounting, fund administration, financial services, or a related tax role
  • Experience with U.S. tax documentation, withholding, and information reporting, including familiarity with Forms W-8, W-9, W-8IMY, 1099, 1042-S, or 8805ย ย ย
  • Experience executing detailed, process-driven work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve operational issues
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
  • An instinct to question existing processes and use AI and automation to build better ones
  • CPA, EA, or progress toward obtaining one is preferred

If you don't tick every box above, we'd still encourage you to apply. We're building a diverse team whose skills balance and complement one another.
