Job description

The Merchandising Operations Associate is responsible for setting up and maintaining products sold through the 1-800-Flowers family of brands. Accuracy in this process is critical, as it directly impacts how products are produced and sold to consumers. This role includes responding to and actioning all requests in a timely manner as they pertain to daily business, as well as communicating any changes to management, SOPs, or other established processes. Additional duties, assignments, and projects may be assigned at the discretion of management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the product development process to understand data required for product setup and maintenance
  • Obtain and transfer information from a central database into systems of record (SAP and Oracle)
  • Partner with Product Development, Sourcing, and Merchandising teams to execute and verify product changes, including:
    • Retail pricing
    • Product names
    • Ship dates and methods
    • Material Masters
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Work with Inventory and Planning teams to execute and verify:
    • Vendor, product, and component shutoffs
    • Order moves and rejects
  • Collaborate with Vendor Relations to adjust vendor cutoff times or process shutoff requests
  • Review and update Material Masters, including material dimension data in SAP
  • Communicate product changes and stock issues across the organization (pricing, shipping, naming, out-of-stock, BOMs, etc.)
  • Balance daily responsibilities with urgent, time-sensitive requests such as:
    • Code setup in Oracle/SAP
    • Assignment of new vendors to active products
  • Demonstrate efficiency by performing procedures quickly and accurately
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize workload
  • Coordinate data from multiple sources and verify data integrity
  • Validate own work for accuracy
  • Perform a variety of product data-related tasks across systems such as Atlas, Bloomlink, Oracle, Centric PLM, and SAP
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude
  • Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for team success
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in merchandising, manufacturing, supply chain, production, or gift development preferred
  • Experience with Centric PLM and/or Microsoft Access preferred
  • Oracle Financials and/or SAP ERP system knowledge a plus
  • End-user SharePoint experience a plus

Knowledge and Skills

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
