The Associate Medical Writer at Pharmacy TimesContinuing Education (PTCE) plays a vital role in supporting the Scientific Affairs and Business Development teams by contributing to the development of CE-certified educational content. This role involves assisting with the creation of high-quality needs assessment components, including writing gap analyses, learning objectives, agendas or lines of content, and needs assessments/literature reviews for grant proposals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with ACPE and regulatory guidelines. The Associate Medical Writer will also assist in the development of content-related elements for CME/CE initiatives, such as slide presentations, manuscripts, and infographics.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in developing grant proposals by drafting needs assessments, gap analyses, learning objectives, agendas, and content summaries.
  • Conduct research into a range of therapeutic areas to identify emerging unmet needs and educational gaps.
  • Conduct global literature reviews to confirm the scientific and clinical accuracy of all materials.
  • Maintain scientific integrity and stylistic consistency by adhering to AMA style and in-house editorial standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ACPE and other regulatory guidelines throughout the grant development process.
  • Comply with company SOPs and contribute to other tasks as assigned.

What Sets You Apart

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
  • 2-4 years of experience in medical writing, scientific communications, or related role (internships considered).
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific data into practical communications.
  • Strong scientific foundation with the ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas.
  • Ability to interpret complex clinical data and outcomes reports to identify learning trends and educational needs.
  • Familiarity with instructional design elements.
  • Familiarity with AMA style and editorial standards.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable receiving guidance from senior team members.

Compensation Range

$65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
