The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and products to support engineering and production operations. This role involves applying engineering principles, conducting analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical requirements, safety standards, and customer expectations. The Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in driving innovation, product quality, and efficiency improvements across the organization. The Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position may collaborate with Fabrication, Assembly, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES
ย 
Primary Duties
--Ability to interpret technical specifications to develop conceptual drawings and bill of materials.
--Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and equipment in alignment with project specifications.
--Prepare engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation.
--Prepare test procedures and conduct performance testing on various types of assemblies
--Perform analysis to validate designs.
--Evaluate product performance and implement improvements to ensure reliability and efficiency.
--Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Operations to support manufacturability and resolve technical issues.
--Research new materials, methods, and technologies to support continuous improvement and innovation.
--Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and vendors as required.

Ancillary Duties
--Assist in developing and maintaining engineering standards and best practices.
--Support cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives through design improvements.
--Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers or interns.

QUALIFICATIONS
ย 
Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic engineered controlled systems.ย 
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Inventor (preferred).
Experience with turning P&ID drawings into engineering projects; project costing
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
Ability to conduct engineering analysis.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Familiarity with applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards.

Physical Requirements
Ability to work at a desk/computer for extended periods.
Occasional lifting of up to 25lbs when handling prototypes, parts, or test equipment.
Ability to move through production, fabrication, and testing environments as needed which may include climbing ladders.
