Job description

Bulk Liquid Terminal Operator

Southeast Emulsions is currently accepting applications for the position of: Bulk Liquid Terminal Operator. This is a full-time position with a guaranteed 40-hour work week and opportunities for advancement.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Unloading rail cars
  • Loading and unloading bulk liquid trailers
  • Basic maintenance activities
  • Certain manufacturing activities
  • Upkeep of operational documents
  • Promoting a safe work environment by adhering to Colas safe work practices and watching out for fellow employees

Training and guidance will be provided.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma (optional)
  • Mechanical experience: welding, pipe fitting and other mechanical experience (preferred)
  • Commitment to being on time (required)
  • Early morning shifts; 4:00am (occasionally)
  • Basic computer skills (required)

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time and walk on even and uneven surfaces; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision acuity, distance vision, color vision and normal depth perception.

Work Environment:

The noise in the work environment is sometimes loud, however does not exceed the OSHA requirement for mandatory hearing protection. The employee must regularly work with hazardous materials (hot liquid asphalt) and chemicals. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather condition, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. This job requires overtime including working weekends and holidays, and rotating work shifts to provide continuous coverage for customer delivery/pickup. The employee's daily starting and quitting times may need to be changed in order to meet changing business requirements.
