Job description

Education & Qualifications: Certificate of Competence and/or Degree in one or more of the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pneumatics, Mechanics, or related field preferred. A minimum of 5 years of facility, industrial, or amusement park maintenance experience is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Mechanical knowledge and experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and conducting routine maintenance on pumps, motors, plumbing, and electrical is preferred. Water quality, chemistry, and filtration experience is preferred. Must be willing to advance education by taking certification courses or training classes related to the position, as deemed necessary by management. Must be able to work 40-50 hours per week on a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to operate lawn equipment and construction equipment (i.e. dump trucks, skid steers, manlifts, fork truck, and power tools). Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb from minimum to extended periods of time and be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including: high and low temperatures, rain, and snow. Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license is required. CPO certification, PA Pesticide Applicator certification w/Category 24, and PA Ride Inspector Class I certification are required or must be obtained within 1 Year of hire.
Summary: This full-time, year-round position will be responsible for the development and oversight of a comprehensive waterpark maintenance program. Job duties and responsibilities will include executing a preventative maintenance (PM) plan, ensuring proper water quality/chemistry, maintaining park cleanliness, and routine repairs to buildings and grounds. Teaches, trains, supervises, evaluates, and directs park maintenance staff. Completes payroll and timesheet approval. Ensures all applicable state laws, federal laws, safety, and OSHA requirements are in compliance. Ability to work 40-50 hours per week on a variable schedule according to business needs: including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. This position is Full Time. Pay Range: $26.53 - $30.76.
Essential Functions:
  • Oversees all daily operations relating to waterpark maintenance including pools, slides, attractions, buildings, grounds, and all equipment within facility.
    • Ensures all safety and OSHA regulations are in compliance.
    • Ensures compliance of all applicable state and federal laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    • Develops and executes a waterpark preventative maintenance (PM) program.
    • Ensures cleanliness and beautification of all buildings and grounds throughout the Waterpark facility.
    • Assigns daily work orders to maintenance staff and supervises assigned tasks.
  • Trains, schedules, and manages waterpark maintenance team members.
    • Approves and adjusts payroll for all incumbents.
    • Completes performance reviews.
    • Ensures Company and Department Policies and Procedures are followed and promotes staff accountability.
    • Completes disciplinary actions as required.
  • Identifies and oversees capital improvement projects including the contractor bid and negotiation process.
  • Manages a payroll budget for the waterpark maintenance department.
  • Maintains related documentation including but not limited to water quality reports, chemical testing records, safety data sheets, chemical container permits, and pesticide applicator licenses.
  • Completes chemical tests and maintains accurate records at designated times, making adjustments as needed.
  • Ensures proper water clarity and chemistry as dictated by the PA Bathing Code Provisions.
  • Responsible for ordering, inventorying, safely storing pool chemicals, and monitoring usage.
  • Monitors pumps, filters and related flow rates and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Completes and coordinates required state inspections on pools, slides, and attractions.
  • Ensures all staff are using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all assigned tasks.
  • Communicates with Aquatic operations team regarding the status of repairs to water attractions.
  • Oversees third party contractors during onsite projects.
  • Maintain and protect employee, customer, and consumer confidentiality.
  • Report to and from work at assigned time.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Must be honest and reliable.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Provide help and support to co-workers on an ongoing basis.
  • Adhere to dress code policy.
