Job description

Job Title: Lead Inventory Specialist | On-site Mon-Fri | 6 month Contract-to-hire | 60k/yr
Job Description
The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for monitoring open and fast track rush orders, ensuring throughput KPIs are met, and providing daily direction and support for store personnel. This role requires a strong customer focus for walk-up inquiries and involves supporting both inwards goods and outbound logistics. The specialist must ensure on-time delivery of components and production kits in accordance with production and transfer order plans and priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor open orders and fast track rush orders.
  • Ensure throughput KPIs are met.
  • Provide daily direction and support for store personnel.
  • Maintain a strong customer focus for walk-up inquiries.
  • Support inwards goods and outbound logistics as needed.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of components and production kits.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly kitting resources to achieve DIFOT and sustain high-level customer service.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for any kitting-related issues.
  • Liaise with production assembly team leads, other sites, and logistics teams regarding required parts.
  • Ensure compliance with the document management system.
  • Ensure SOPs are followed and stock point accuracy is maintained.
  • Facilitate shared resource requirements for the daily cycle counting program.
  • Ensure FIFO is managed and maintained to achieve appropriate stock rotation.
  • Maintain stock point accuracy and ensure the system accurately reflects actual stock movements.
  • Drive continuous improvements across the team and maintain SOPs for key processes.
  • Maintain a tidy, orderly warehouse in accordance with the principles of 5S.
  • Ensure health and safety policies and SOPs are followed, including wearing correct PPE.
  • Promptly report near misses and incidents.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably required.

Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of supply chain and/or inventory experience.
  • Proven experience in managing 3-6 direct reports.
  • Exposure to international shipping regulations, such as ITAR.
  • Strong IT knowledge, comfortable with Windows.
  • Experience with a fully integrated ERP system.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or other heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Prior experience in a high-paced, rapid growth environment.
  • A can-do attitude, open to learning with good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build working relationships.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wallops Island, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $31.25/hr.
