Purpose
Provides support in the areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Deposits, Vendor Relations, Month-end close, Year-end reporting, and other administrative tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
A working knowledge of basic office practices and accounting practices
Ability to perform all accounting transactions (posting of AP, AR, etc.) in a timely manner
An understanding of all the needs for and a commitment to maintain confidential accounting information
Assist in month-end closing duties as assigned
Post receipts and prepare checks for deposit
Post and print AP checks
Scan supporting documents and post vendor invoices into accounting software
Reconcile bank accounts
Reconcile store deposits to the agency management system
Process payments to insurance carriers for policy insurance premiums
Sort and distribute all incoming mail
Perform routine accounting and data entry functions for the business as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
1 year of accounting experience/Associate Degree
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to meet weekly deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others
Preferred Skills
Insurance accounting experience preferred
Proficient in Excel
Working knowledge of AMS360, Appone, and Acumatica
