Firm Overview:
Stable Rock is a next-generation outsourcing platform offering comprehensive back-office infrastructure and innovative services to early-stage and mid-sized enterprises. With our legacy dating back to 1975, for nearly 50 years we are renowned for our proficiency in accounting, financial advisory, and infrastructure support, currently serving over 400 US and international enterprises across diverse industries.

At Stable Rock, we are the architects of success for entrepreneurs, founders, senior executives, management teams, CFOs, controllers, and business professionals. Our mission is to empower, scale, and fortify the bedrock of your enterprise - its IT, human resources, insurance, accounting, bookkeeping, tax, financial reporting, and the overall financial and operational infrastructure.

Job Opportunity and Responsibilities:
Stable Rock is seeking a highly collaborative, skilled and detail-oriented Senior Associate to join and support the Accounting & CFO Services team. The ideal candidate will play an important role by preparing and analyzing financial information and ensuring accuracy and compliance. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of businesses across different industries and at different stages of their lifecycle, contributing to their financial health and success. This position features a hybrid work arrangement, blending in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements; and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients.
  • Bookkeeping & Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients. Reconcile bank statements, complete monthly and quarterly write-ups, make general journal entries, and help prepare the books for tax preparation and audits. Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns.
  • Client Service: Assist in the client servicing of assigned clients, addressing their financial queries and concerns. Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and exceptional service. Assist in client meetings to discuss financial performance, provide recommendations, and plan for future needs.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other Stable Rock departments to provide integrated client services.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in accounting/bookkeeping and finance or related field. Prior experience in public accounting or working with multiple clients simultaneously preferred.
  • Certifications: CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification is a plus.
  • Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients/projects and deadlines and handle a fast-paced environment where you can work both autonomously and in a team-oriented setting. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Initiative, commitment to professional development, attention to detail, and client service excellence.
  • Software and Technology: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, knowledge of accounting G/L software such as Xero, QuickBooks (desktop and online), NetSuite, and Sage Intacct. Knowledge of E-Commerce platforms, inventory and SaaS software a plus.

Location: Hybrid (New York, NY or Elmsford, NY)
Compensation: Highly competitive all-in comp ($75,000 to $95,000)
Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision
  • Health and Flexible Savings Accounts
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
