How this role contributes to the Y's mission: As a Y Group Exercise Instructor, you'll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. The Group Exercise Instructor provides quality instruction and supervision to Y members and participants by teaching safe and functionally challenging classes that promote total fitness development and support a greater sense of well-being. You'll help more people stay active and connected to positive community life by providing a fun, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that promotes group interaction, exercise and a sense of belonging. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you'll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging. โ€ข A love of fitness and people โ€ข A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness โ€ข A nationally recognized accredited group exercise certification required (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NETA preferred) or standalone or specialty certification (Les Mills, Zumba, etc.) โ€ข The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
