Position Description

We are seeking a hands-on technical leader to architect, develop, and scale enterprise-grade automation solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and resiliency across our global IT infrastructure. This role combines deep technical expertise with collaboration to drive automation strategy, accelerate delivery, and reduce manual effort through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), orchestration, and GitOps practices.

Location: Onsite – Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Design and maintain reusable automation frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python.
  • Define and execute the Infrastructure-as-Code roadmap, ensuring standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and self-service workflows.
  • Implement secure-by-default, modular design patterns and enforce automation governance.
  • Maintain strong documentation, version control, and code review standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with cloud, network, server, database, and operations teams to automate platform operations.
  • Work with security and compliance teams to embed policy-as-code into pipelines.
  • Integrate automation with service request workflows, monitoring, and self-service portals.
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Automation Coverage: 80%+ of infrastructure provisioning and configuration managed via IaC.
  • Delivery Speed: Reduced manual effort and accelerated deployment cycles through CI/CD integration.
  • Reliability: Improved uptime and scalability through standardized automation practices.
  • Team Growth: High-performing, collaborative team delivering consistent results.
  • Compliance: Policy-as-code embedded in all infrastructure pipelines ensuring security and governance.

Position Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, system administration, or DevOps with a strong focus on automation
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership or people-management role
  • Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Proven hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and related infrastructure-as-code technologies
  • Experience in integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure environments (on-premises and Azure preferred)
  • Strong understanding of version control, secure coding practices, and peer-reviewed development workflows
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • Certifications such as Terraform Associate, Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Ansible, VMware VCP, or ITIL v4
  • Experience with GitOps workflows and pipeline governance tooling
  • Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools (e.g., Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus)
  • Experience automating request workflows in platforms like ServiceNow or other ITSM systems
  • Exposure to container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
