Accounting Manager - Senior Living Facility

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our senior living community. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a compassionate organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. The successful candidate will bring strong financial expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

This position is full time and the starting salary is $80,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare, analyze and review financial statements
  • Oversee daily operations, workflows and staff to ensure all project milestones and deadlines are met
  • Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries to the general ledger
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including salary calculations and deductions
  • Manage all financial reporting and regulatory compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to federal, state, and local regulatory agencies

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred; Associate's degree in accounting with equivalent professional experience will also be considered
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities
