We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Tax/Accounting Associate in Peoria. You will manage daily bookkeeping, process payroll and accounts payable, reconcile accounts, and support month-end close procedures for multiple clients. During tax time this individual will also assist in tax preparation of tax returns. The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills and highly proficient in Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online.

Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping and Transactions: Record daily transactions and process accounts payable for some of the clients

  • Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts

  • Month-End Closing: Preparing journal entries and closing activities

  • Financial Reporting: Compile data for monthly/quarterly financial statements and tax preparation

  • Compliance: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all activities adhere to standard accounting practices and internal company polices

  • Tax Return Preparation: Will assist in the preparing of tax returns during the tax season

Skills

  • Understanding: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong problem-solving skills
