The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing mobility programs for short- and long-term assignments and domestic and international transfers and relocation. This role ensures vendors are meeting expectations and effectively representing Simplot in a cost-effective yet employee-focused manner. The Global Mobility Specialist serves as a key resource for employees, leaders, HR partners, and vendors, helping navigate relocation, immigration, and mobility-related processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. It also ensures alignment with the Total Rewards philosophy and HR strategy.
Key Responsibilities

Global Assignments and Relocations

  • Lead mobility program development and design while utilizing technical expertise in the mobility compliance environment.
  • Lead the coordination of vendors, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Enterprise Services, Legal, and Talent teams to ensure seamless onboarding and movement of employees and candidates.
  • Lead and coordinate the due diligence process with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors (tax, relocation, immigration, and expat health & benefits) including cost projection calculations, tax impact assessments, and compliance requirements analysis.
  • Serve as a resource on immigration, work authorization, relocation, taxation, and mobility compliance requirements.
  • Research issues and develop solutions to resolve them.
  • Partner to develop and implement Compensation & Benefits policies, practices, and programs to meet business needs.
  • Coach and mentor HR and Business Leaders on Global Mobility practices and requirements.
  • Partner with HR and Legal to ensure compliance over mobility, benefits, compensation, and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Monitor changes in immigration and mobility regulations and proactively identify impacts to employees and the business.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and their families throughout mobility and relocation processes, helping them navigate complex and often stressful transitions.

Domestic Relocation

  • Lead relocation program development and benchmarking to ensure alignment with Talent needs and HR/Business strategy.
  • Maintain policy documents and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate support for relocating individuals.
  • Partner with employees, hiring managers, and HR stakeholders to ensure a positive relocation experience while maintaining policy compliance.

Additional Responsibilities

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

3+ years related experience and/or training

Preferred experience includes:

  • Global mobility, employee relocation, immigration, or international assignment administration.
  • Working with immigration/work authorization processes and external immigration counsel.
  • Managing relationships with mobility, relocation, tax, or destination service providers.
  • Supporting employees through domestic and international relocation experiences.
  • Operating in a fast-changing regulatory environment requiring strong attention to detail, compliance, and customer service.
Other Information
  • Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) certification preferred.Experience with U.S. immigration and work authorization processes is preferred.
  • Ability to balance a customer-focused approach with strong process discipline and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to understand broader business objectives when recommending mobility solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple business units and support Simplot's continued global growth initiatives.
