Patient Services Associate - Front Desk - Bilingual Spanish

Job Summary
A Patient Services Associate - Front Desk plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring patient satisfaction, and contributing to the efficient operation of the clinic. They serve as the first point of contact for patients and help facilitate a smooth and organized patient experience.
Responsibilities
  • Greeting and checking in patients: Welcoming patients as they arrive, verifying their personal and insurance information.
  • Scheduling appointments: Assisting patients in scheduling appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers,
  • Answering phone calls: Handling incoming calls from patients, addressing their inquiries, and providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Insurance verification and billing: Verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining necessary authorizations, and explaining insurance benefits and coverage to patients.
  • Maintaining patient records: Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records,
  • Coordinating referrals and follow-ups: Assisting patients in scheduling referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers as required
  • Managing the waiting area: Ensuring a clean, organized, and comfortable waiting area for patients.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks: Supporting the clinic's administrative functions, such as filing documents, organizing paperwork, and maintaining office supplies.

Qualifications
Required:
  • At least 2 years of college 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, email and internet
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations such as HIPAA
  • Bilingual Spanish
Preferred:
  • Experience handling heavy call volume and multi-line phone system
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Associate's Degree or additional training
