Associate Artist, FX
The Job
Avalanche, a division of WB Games Inc., is seeking an Associate, Artist with specialization in FX to join our talented industry veterans. This is an individual contributor position that designs and creates visual effects work for assigned aspects of products with a focus on technical trouble-shooting and problem solving.
What Part will you Play
  • Use Unreal 5, industry standard 3D and 2D packages, as well as proprietary tools to create FX assets for their assigned development project. These assets will include real-time interactive FX and pre-scripted cinematic events.
  • Implement FX into the game or cinematic event.
  • Assists in R&D efforts for tools enhancements and prototyping of new technology.

What do we need from you?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in 2D/3D animation, graphic design or video games.
  • Proficient with 2D and 3D software suites, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, etc.
  • A strong sense of color and composition is critical.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Solid organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions and other established protocols.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and redo/iterate work until it's approved.
  • Ability to learn new tools and techniques as they relate to the job.
  • Strong interest in computer/ video games.

Good to Have
  • Experience as an Artist in the games industry is a plus
  • Experience in the Unreal 5 Engine
