Century Therapeutics (NASDAQ: IPSC) is a biotechnology company advancing a pipeline of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cell therapies with the potential to meaningfully address autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, and cancer. The company’s therapies are derived from its iPSC cell foundry and leverage its novel immune evasion engineering technology, Allo-Evasion™. Century believes its approach to developing off-the-shelf cell therapies will expand patient access and provide advantages over existing cell therapies which will ultimately advance the course of care.


Role

The Senior Engineering Associate/ Associate Engineer, Manufacturing Science and Technology will be responsible for developing/ implementing and executing manufacturing processes for Century’s cellular therapy programs. The candidate will be expected to receive process tech transfers, implement them into a GMP manufacturing facility, and be a hands-on operator for the Phase I manufacturing campaign. This role is also responsible for ongoing process development on these programs including bioreactor selection, evaluation, scale up and characterization. This includes designing and executing studies, analyzing data and presenting results under the supervision of a team leader. This role requires extensive collaboration with internal and external teams. The successful candidate will need strong scientific background, interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other groups across organizations.


The expected annual salary range for this role is approximately $110,000 - $123,000 depending on experience and level of role ultimately offered. Additional benefits offered include but are not limited to an annual performance-based bonus (prorated by start date), medical, dental, and vision insurance, matching 401K plan, and 20+ days per-year of PTO (prorated by start date). Additionally, employees not requiring sponsorship are preferred.

Requirements:
  • Receive tech transfers from development into GMP and from other sites.
  • Implement and run cell processes into GMP manufacturing.
  • Assist in developing, executing, and documenting process development experiments.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment.
  • Author technical documents (batch records, SOPs, reports, etc.).
  • Support preparation of CMC documents for regulatory filings.
  • Foster a collaborative and scientifically rigorous team culture.

Qualifications

  • A BS or MS degree in biochemical, chemical, biomedical engineering or other related field.
  • Senior Engineering Associate: 2-4 (BS) or 0-2 (MS) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Associate Engineer 4-6 (BS) or 2-4 (MS) years of relevant professional experience.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of cell culture and aseptic technique.
  • Strong scientific background.
  • Experience with bioreactors a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
