Job Description

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist/Coordinator will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with corporate and local/state/federal safety standards, and maintaining a safe working environment. They will maintain safety programs and inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA, and industry standards. The EHS Specialist/Coordinator will conduct training and coaching for associates on observed work habits; perform safety observations & audits; train and assist others in completing their safety responsibilities (Audits, Following Safety Rules, etc.); and provide specific safety training as required. 

YOUR TASKS

  • Maintain and administer site-specific safety programs; 

  • Conduct trainings and coaching associates on observed work habits; 

  • Lead and engage a site safety committee;  

  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to report to onsite management teams; 

  • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions; 

  • Execute emergency response drills; 

  • Track and facilitate trainings across the different jobs functions as needed; 

  • Support incident reporting and investigation; 

  • Conduct root cause analyses;  

  • Complete or facilitate inspections of all safety-related equipment, PPE, and procedures; 

  • Ensure site complies with all local, state and federal environmental regulations; 

  • Fulfill client-related EHS requirements;  

  • Identify and inform management of hazards, compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits.  

Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience in an Environment, Health & Safety related field  

  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification  

  • Experience in emergency response planning and procedures 

  • Strong communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Holds First Aid / CPR certification 

  • PIT safety awareness  

  • Hazard identification / risk assessment experience 

  • Incident reporting / investigation experience 

  • Warehouse operations or logistics experience 

  • Environmental compliance experience 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
