Position: Associate Director of Dining

Schedule: Includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Please only apply if you are able to work these hours:

  • standard schedule of 11:00am to 7:00pm, rotated weekend and holiday coverage will be required

    Salary: starting at $55k depending on experience

Position Summary:

The Bayshore is recruiting for a hospitality focused Associate Dining Director to join our team! This role provides full-scope, hands on serving functions within the community and is responsible for managing shift schedules, orientation and training of all dining staff, maintenance and training of POS system by updating menu changes, reservations, and online ordering.   


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Always exemplify Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
  • Invest time in coaching and training all front of the house team members for extraordinary service
  • Exhibit dining room appearance and presentation standards always. 
  • Supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes and lighting.
  • Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
  • Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met.
  • Records meal counts, reservations and additional charges.  
  • Makes morning rounds of Dining Room, Dietary and Kitchen to check staff levels.
  • Partners with Culinary Director to maintain successful operation of the restaurant between front and back of house

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years' supervisory experience in "front of the house operations" within restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution.
  • Prefer Post-Secondary Education in hospitality management or dining room operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills in order to work effectively with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.
  • Complete knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
