Job description

At The North Face, we believe great exploration starts with great gear! As the Associate Accessories Designer, you'll help bring innovative gloves and headwear to life, blending performance, functionality, and style while building the skills and experience to grow your design career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Collaborate with designers and cross-functional partners to help bring innovative gloves and headwear concepts to life.
  • Support the design process across research, concept development, product design, color application, and technical specification creation.
  • Execute and refine designs with guidance from the Accessories Design Manager and senior design team members.
  • Build your understanding of accessory construction, materials, fit, function, and performance while developing your design skillset.
  • Create technical drawings, presentation materials, and product specifications using Adobe Illustrator and other design tools.
  • Contribute to design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and innovation workshops, bringing curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
  • Stay connected to industry trends, consumer insights, and The North Face design DNA to help create products that inspire exploration.
  • Support the team's commitment to responsible design practices and innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • 1-2 years of experience in product design, accessories design, apparel design, industrial design, or a related field preferred.
  • Developing knowledge of gloves, headwear, or other accessories, including how products function, perform, and are constructed.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; familiarity with Photoshop is a plus.
  • Strong sketching, concepting, and technical specification skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • A positive, adaptable mindset and passion for learning.
  • Interest in outdoor culture, performance products, and The North Face brand.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
  • Experience with 3D design tools or digital product creation workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered rendering or visualization tools.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, or product construction.
  • Exposure to circular design and sustainable product development principles.
  • Knit product design, materials, and construction through coursework, internships, or early-career experience is a plus.

This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our HQ in Denver, CO three days a week.
Hiring Range:
$60,480.00 USD - $75,600.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
