Job description

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing high-quality, critical care to patients dealing with severe and life-threatening conditions. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires advanced clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 (including stipend)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and emotional health.
  • Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies, monitoring patient responses.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for critically ill patients.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs and perform necessary interventions for life support.
  • Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families about care plans and treatment processes.
  • Participate actively in unit meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's Degree considered with appropriate experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is preferred.
  • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are mandatory; additional certifications such as CCRN may be beneficial.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and handle multiple priorities effectively.
