Job description

Position Overview

The MEP BIM/CAD Technician / Archivist will support our team of mechanical and electrical engineers, architects, and project managers on the production and design of project deliverables. They will develop sketches, layouts, drawings, exhibits, and specifications for projects. They should have strong collaboration and communication skills and possess the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies easily. In this role, you will also be responsible for archiving of project related documents.

Essential Duties:

MEP BIM/CAD Technician Job Duties

  • Develop detailed and accurate mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings and models using BIM and/or CAD software programs with information obtained from rough sketches and/or architecture and engineering design information.
  • Learn rules, regulations, and client detail design specifications, applying learned knowledge to drafting.
  • Interpret, translate. and incorporate mark-ups into drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings and models follow established standards and procedures.
  • This position will work to support any of our mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering BIM needs
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Archivist Job Duties

  • Ensure proper organization of documents
  • Assure documents submitted to document control are appropriately named, numbered, filed, etc.
  • Ensure company records management and retention policies are followed.
  • Update and maintain master AutoCAD base plans and Revit models.
  • Organize and maintain standard details for all disciplines.
  • Administer final archiving of documents during Project Closeout process.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Computer-Aided Design/Drafting, Construction Technology, or related field.
  • Previous experience with BIM and/or CAD software essential
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD and Revit preferred
  • Previous experience in an architectural environment preferred
  • Previous experience archiving of documents helpful.
  • Understanding of structural drafting and design.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, research, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage time and work on multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
