What you'll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking an Associate, Data & Analytics Engineer in South Jordan, UT to use data to create models depicting fraud trends in the customer base and the consumer population as a whole. Create data visualizations to understand fraud trends. Create effective technology solutions in improving efficiency using different analytical techniques and forecasting. Create rules in the rule's engine and conduct pre- and post- production testing to ensure effectiveness. Collaborate with cross- functional groups such as Customer Service, Product Management, Engineering, and Technology to enhance tools, data sources, system functionalities, and fraud detection methods. Communicate trends, findings, proposals, and solutions to management and stakeholders. Measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Recommend or introduce new tools used for fraud detection, prevention and reporting activities. Execute complex SQL queries including joins, subqueries, unions, and temporary tables. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.

What you'll bring to the role:

-Requires a Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.

-Requires two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Associate, Business Technology Analyst, Systems Engineer, or a closely related occupation.

-Requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills:

  • SQL queries including joins, subqueries, unions, and temporary tables;
  • data visualization to create interactive dashboards and reports;
  • data modeling, validation, testing, and cleansing;
  • designing and developing ETL pipelines to support end-to-end dataflows;
  • root cause analysis;
  • integrating and aggregating data from internal and external sources;
  • gathering business requirements from stakeholders and translating into actionable analytics solutions;
  • AGILE methodologies;
  • enhancing data accuracy through troubleshooting and validation across data layers;
  • communicating with stakeholders and executive leadership through presentations and reports;
  • cross-functional partnerships with product, technology, and operations teams to improve data capabilities and workflows;
  • financial services, data, and products including Online banking, Transaction Data, and Checking and Savings Accounts;
  • minimizing operational risk including limiting information shared outside the firm, securing firm data, and authenticating clients.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $97,920 and $97,920 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
