Job description

We were tired of hearing that healthcare is broken, so we decided to do something about it. At Nomi Health, we believe the care itself isn't broken - it's the business of healthcare that gets in the way. Every year, more than $1 trillion is wasted on paperwork, delays, and middle layers that drive up costs and keep people from the care they need.
We're rebuilding the system so it works the way it should: clear prices you can trust, faster payments that keep providers focused on patients, and data that helps employers make better decisions. Our work has already touched more than 30 million lives - from local communities in Michigan to some of the largest companies in the country.
We are seeking a motivated Associate Data Analyst eager to grow their skills in healthcare claims, payer analytics, and reimbursement models. You will support the analysis of medical and pharmacy claims data to help inform contract negotiations, provider reimbursement strategies, and sales initiatives. This is a great opportunity to build foundational knowledge of payer systems, Medicare reimbursement structures, fee schedules, and healthcare financial models under the guidance of experienced teammates.
How you will make an impact:
  • Assist in analyzing medical and pharmacy claims data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for optimization.

  • Support provider contracting and payer teams by pulling and summarizing data on reimbursement models, pricing structures, and fee schedules.

  • Assist in building and maintaining financial models to assess payer performance, reimbursement strategies, and cost containment opportunities.

  • Collaborate with sales and contracting teams to deliver ad hoc data pulls and reports that support growth initiatives.

  • Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims data to support tracking reimbursement trends and regulatory changes.

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, or Tableau to visualize key business metrics.

  • Support evaluation of the financial impact of alternative payment models, value-based care initiatives, and provider incentives.

  • Perform quality checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy in claims analysis.

  • Partner with internal teams to support claims processing workflows, payment accuracy, and operational efficiencies.

What we are looking for:
  • 0-2 years of experience in healthcare claims analysis, payer analytics, or related field; internship or academic project experience welcome.

  • Basic familiarity with Medicare and commercial payer reimbursement concepts; willingness to learn reimbursement methodologies on the job.

  • Exposure to medical and pharmacy claims data or healthcare financial concepts is a plus; training will be provided.

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.

  • Experience/interest leveraging AI tools to automate workflows.

  • Any exposure to contract negotiations, network management, or provider relations is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present data findings to teammates and stakeholders.

Nomi Health delivers disruptive healthcare solutions, in partnership with like-minded employers, public sector organizations, advisors (brokers/consultants), and payers/TPAs. We're a team of 300+ people who show up every day with the same mindset: don't settle for "that's just how it is." Real change happens when you challenge the system, cut through the excuses, and build something better together.
