Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Immunization Nurse to support a community vaccination initiative within a CVS Health retail pharmacy setting. The RN will be responsible for administering various vaccines, including Flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other immunizations, while providing safe, high-quality patient care.

This is an onsite, patient-facing role requiring strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to improving community health outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer vaccines including Flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other approved immunizations safely and efficiently.
  • Perform patient assessments and verify vaccination eligibility according to clinical guidelines.
  • Provide patient education regarding vaccines, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of administered vaccines and patient information.
  • Follow all infection prevention, safety, and PPE protocols.
  • Provide compassionate care while creating a positive patient experience.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and pharmacy staff to support vaccination operations.
  • Adapt to changing patient volumes and workflow needs in a fast-paced community healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support a team culture focused on compassion, accountability, and quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama or the state/territory where services are performed.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization and direct patient care experience.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Experience with medication administration and vaccine delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to administer vaccinations to patients of all ages.
  • Must have a valid High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
