Associate Customer Success Manager

San Francisco, California, United States

Checkr is building the data platform to power safe and fair decisions. Over 140,000 companies and millions of people rely on Checkr for AI verification in the moments that matter most: getting a new job, a new place to live, a car ride, childcare, even a date. Checkr is recognized on Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List and is a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company.

About the Team/Role

Reporting to the Director of Customer Success, the Associate Customer Success Manager will support Checkr's most strategic customer relationships as part of a high-performing team dedicated to helping enterprise and gig economy customers succeed with Checkr's background check platform. This role will own day-to-day account support tasks, help track account health, and assist senior CSMs in preparing for customer meetings and business reviews across some of Checkr's largest accounts. The Associate CSM will partner closely with Product, Solutions, Engineering, Operations, and Support teams, gaining broad exposure to how Checkr serves its most important customers as the company continues to grow.

What You'll Do
  • Support senior CSMs in managing day-to-day operations for strategic accounts, including tracking open items and following up on customer requests
  • Help prepare materials for customer meetings, business reviews, and executive check-ins
  • Monitor account health signals and flag risks or opportunities to the account team
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer issues by partnering with Support, Operations, and Engineering
  • Maintain accurate account records and notes in Salesforce and other internal systems
  • Contribute to internal projects that improve how the Customer Success team serves strategic accounts
What You Bring
  • 0-2 years of experience in a client-facing, customer success, or account support role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent Checkr professionally with customers
  • High attention to detail and follow-through on tasks with minimal oversight
  • Comfort working with tools like Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Slack
  • A genuine curiosity about HR tech, background checks, or the gig economy is a plus
  • An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes
