West Cary Group is a full-service, digital marketing and technology agency based in Richmond, Virginia, which services numerous mid-sized local and Fortune 500 clients across a vast array of industries. The ideal candidate will oversee the creative team to help develop the agency’s creative product for clients.


Position Responsibilities

  • Attend strategy meetings for new business with clients and internal partners
  • Meet with creative team to check the status of current projects and assign new projects
  • Lead brainstorming sessions with creative team to develop ad campaigns based on clients’ needs
  • Evaluate the work and work hands on with the team to develop creative assets that meet the visual and copy objectives of the campaign
  • Create advertising proposals for clients
  • Pitch concepts to clients
  • Work closely with Creative Directors and other marketing professionals to achieve world-class creative execution
  • Work with Account Management team to make sure clients’ needs are being met and creative goals are on track
  • Manage the creative team from concept to completion of projects with strong leadership
  • Lead and facilitate a variety of different creative, design, multimedia, production and marketing responsibilities while staying within the overall strategic vision outlined by company executives
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Role Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to lead a team of creatives
  • Must have knowledge of communication disciplines including marketing communications, advertising, media and public relations, printed and electronic design, web design, strategy development and project management
  • Must have broad-based creative experience and be able to evaluate copy and design in a wide variety of media
  • Must have brand and identity management expertise

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related field or equivalent professional experiences
  • A minimum of 5 to 9 years of experience in a creative role (such as Designer, Copywriter, Content Developer)
  • Supervisory experience in leading a creative team is a required
  • Must be proficient in the entire Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Microsoft applications as well as Figma
  • Solid background in copywriting and/or design
  • Knowledge of each step of an ad campaign’s process to give creatives direction, work on schedule and meet clients’ advertising expectations
  • Heavy background in Direct Mail Advertising and a proven successful track record
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
