Description:

Occupational Summary:  As a Systems Administrator, you will support and maintain Booth & Associates' Microsoft 365, server, virtualization, networking, and endpoint computing environments across multiple offices. You will serve as a primary IT resource for an assigned office while collaborating with the corporate IT team on infrastructure, systems administration, automation, and end-user support. This position is intended for an experienced IT professional who can independently troubleshoot complex technical issues, administer production systems, and take ownership of infrastructure-related problems through resolution.

Requirements:

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, and Intune.

• Administer and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related infrastructure.

• Support and maintain virtualization platforms, including VMware and Proxmox.

• Monitor system health, performance, backups, patching, endpoint protection, and security compliance; escalate risks and critical issues as appropriate.

• Create, maintain, test, and document PowerShell scripts used for automation, endpoint management, software deployment, reporting, and systems administration.

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support, independently diagnosing and resolving complex issues involving Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, servers, virtualization, endpoints, and line of-business applications.

• Provision and deploy workstations, user accounts, applications, mobile devices, and other IT resources for new and existing employees.

• Manage IT inventory and coordinate the repair, replacement, and lifecycle of laptops, desktops, accessories, phones, printers, and related equipment.

• Serve as the primary onsite IT contact for the assigned office and provide hands-on support for switching, routing, Wi-Fi access points, conferencing equipment, and other core technologies.

• Assist with server upgrades, system migrations, disaster recovery planning, office technology projects, and infrastructure improvements.

• Support and contribute to a company-wide safety culture by following established safety standards, policies, and best practices, helping to ensure a safe environment for employees, clients, and the public.

• Support engineering and business applications and coordinate with vendors or service providers when additional assistance is required.

• Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and employee training materials.

• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and efficiency through automation, standardization, and process improvement.

• Travel occasionally to company offices to provide onsite technical support, equipment deployment, and project assistance as needed.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally to technical and non-technical employees, vendors, and leadership.

*The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned

to this position. This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of

personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Networking, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

• Three or more years of experience in technical support, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related IT role.

• Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 environments.

• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and business networking fundamentals.

• Experience administering or supporting a production virtualization environment, such as VMware or Proxmox.

• Mid-level PowerShell experience, including the ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and create scripts for common administrative tasks.

• Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, networks, user accounts, and business applications.

• Ability to manage competing priorities, establish reasonable deadlines, document work, and communicate status without frequent oversight.

• Strong customer service, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-starter who can operate independently at a remote office while collaborating effectively with colleagues across multiple locations.

• Ability to participate in occasional after-hours maintenance and travel to other company offices as business needs require.

Preferred Skills / Nice to Have:

• Hands-on VMware administration experience and familiarity with migration planning or transition to Proxmox.

• Experience administering Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.

• Experience with PowerShell automation for software installation, endpoint remediation, Microsoft 365 administration, inventory, and reporting.

• Experience with backup systems, disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity best practices, including MFA.

• Experience supporting engineering software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley products, Bluebeam, ETAP, or EMTP.

• Familiarity with remote monitoring and management tools, help desk or IT service management platforms, and remote access utilities.

Success in this role requires:

• Taking ownership of issues and projects from initial assessment through resolution and documentation.

• Knowing when to work independently and when to involve other IT team members or escalate a risk.

• Being comfortable shifting between infrastructure administration, automation, and direct end-user support.

• Maintaining a professional, service-oriented approach while working with employees at all technical skill levels.

• Demonstrating curiosity, sound judgment, accountability, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
