JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
STATUS: Full-time
EU MISSION STATEMENT:Evangel University is a comprehensive Christian university committed to excellence in educating and equipping students to become Spirit-empowered servants of God who impact the Church and society globally.
JOB SUMMARY:The Administrative Assistant reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for providing administrative support to the Athletic Director and the athletic department.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
  • Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the athletic department
  • Schedules meetings for the AD and the department
  • Schedules facility usage
  • Daily activities associated with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
  • Coordinates the activities of the Athletics Director
  • Works directly with head coaches, assistant coaches, and athletic trainers
  • Keeps accounting of Athletics Department budget.
  • Credit card reconciliation
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the Athletics Department.
  • Maintains budget for department.
  • Processes all department invoices in the business and finance accounting system.
  • Manages ticket sales at select home athletic events.
  • Works directly with the Sports Information Director & Assistant Athletic Director for organizing select home athletic events.
  • Processes new and existing employees.
  • Assist and coordinate student workers assigned to the department.
  • Order supplies for the department
  • Helps in the planning and implementation of special events for athletics
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High school graduate - some accounting/bookkeeping education and/or training preferred.
  • Experience in writing and editing professional communications.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in a service-related role.
Skills and Competencies
  • High level of comfort and competency working with numbers, finances, and financial communications.
  • Highly organized and able to handle changing tasks and act decisively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in Excel is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while keeping a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
