Job description

Position Summary

May make setups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint and work instruction specifications. May perform a wide variety of complex tests, checkouts, troubleshooting and rework on components, instruments, and assemblies; may prepare reports and suggest improvements and modifications from data collected. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Will also assist with inventory and cycle count.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work aircraft metal surfaces by hand using specific hand tools to obtain the proper finish, prepare aircraft metal surface for further finishing requirements.
  • Be able to follow detailed procedures to obtain the proper grain on the surface of the part being polished.
  • Must be able to comprehend written production work orders, documents, drawings, specifications, and understand oral instructions to perform the tasks necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Must follow prescribed work policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Experience using basic hand tools.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and to do repetitive work.
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Ability to identify, organize, and recognize differences or similarities.
