Description:
  • Provide athletic training services for USD #443 school athletic events and practices, within the scope of licensure established by the school district, supervising physician and the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
  • Assist with preseason screenings of all athletes.
  • Provide athletic training services for special events sponsored by USD #443 as negotiated with the Athletic/Activities Director(s)
  • Provide supervision of all student athletic training aides for the high school, including attendance at games and/or practices.
  • Provide sports medicine and first aid information to all student athletic training aides, coaches and administrators concerned with appropriate preventative and management measure for athletic injuries.
  • Responsible for the general maintenance of the DCMS/CMS athletic training facility.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation for each injured athlete. In addition, the A-ATC will provide the coaching staff and administrators with appropriate status reports for athletes.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Emergency Action Plans for athletic facilities used by USD #443 programs.
  • Perform any tasks not previously defined, as necessary, for the smooth operation of the sports medicine programs at the high school.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an area relating to the athletic training profession
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
  • Maintains Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for NATABOC Certification and KSBHA Licensure
  • Maintains certification in First Aid and CPR with AED - Professional Rescuer equivalent
