Position Details
The University of Tampa's Athletic Department has a position available for an Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
Responsibilities
1. Evaluate, treat and provide rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
2. Review and document injuries.
3. Provide referrals for appropriate medical care.
4. Provide athletic training services on the field or court, at practices and events.
5. Manage insurance and other documentation necessary for proper medical care.
6. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
7. Oversight of insurance processing for athletic injuries.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
2. One year of NATABOC certified experience required.
3. Experience supervising and teaching student athletic trainers preferred.
4. Florida licensed or eligible.
5. Good oral, interpersonal and organizational skills needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
6. Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends and some holidays.
7. Ability to forge a working relationship with college level athletics and coaches.
8. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
9. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
