Amego Inc is seeking a passionate and caring nurse to join our team. This position offers great flexibility and paid time off to ensure an excellent work-life balance. The Nurse is responsible for providing clinical nursing supports and coordination of all medical services for individuals attending the Day Habilitation Program and provides training and supervision to program staff. The Nurse assists the Program Director in the daily operation of the Day Habilitation Program and completes all necessary documentation pursuant to the Day Habilitation regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee health care services for all program recipients.
  • Coordinate medical services with each recipient's primary physician when needed.
  • Member of inter-disciplinary evaluation team.
  • Participates in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluations and review of each recipient's needs and status.
  • Assist Program Director in securing necessary referral documentation and program authorizations for each recipient, and in maintaining currency of records on an ongoing basis. Maintain medical records, health plans, medical recommendations/authorizations and medication information for each program recipient as it pertains to the day habilitation service plans.
  • Obtain reports and approval of treatment plans from primary physicians; and ensure that records/documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  • Meet or exceed regulatory requirements for CARF, DPH, MASS Health and Day Habilitation programming. Update monthly progress notes and quarterly reviews. Provide annual nursing assessments for recipients' of Day Habilitation Service Plan.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance program for health care services, delivery and documentation.
  • Provide training and education to staff and individuals in relevant health care areas, including Safety, Universal Precautions, and others as requested by the Program Director or DHS.
  • Provide supervision to program staff, additional nursing staff (with future program expansion) and function as therapy liaison person. Interpret medical information for staff and advise program staff of medical issues that may impact on a recipient's program participation.
  • Assist Program Director with training, supervising and evaluating assigned staff in accordance with agency policy and procedure. Reinforce a team approach, set clear expectations, provide feedback, communication and support to staff and individuals.
  • Participate in recipients' day habilitation service planning and other team meetings, as requested. Effectively communicate with state agency personnel, other service professionals, family members, guardians, etc.
  • Meet with the Program Director biweekly to address program, staff or individual issues, policy and procedure recommendations. Provide technical support for program operations. Provide on-site assessment and treatment of individuals, as needed.
  • Administer medications, as directed by prescriptions, standing orders, etc.
  • Follow all regulatory requirements re: medication administration, security and storage. This includes following Amego's internal health care policies and proc. Adhere to all time keeping policies and procedures.
  • Provide consultation/staff training as requested by Program Director or DHS. Assist program staff in providing direct care/personal care supports to individuals.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm
Salary Range: $31-$33/hr
