Job description

NewGen Technologies has an opening for a Command &Telemetry (C&T) Network Engineer. The C&T Network Engineer is a technical role which includes solution and design engineering functions for government passive and active network infrastructures. The candidate will be responsible for C&T Network Engineering and supporting other engineering teams for all network design and engineering activities. These engineering activities will be conducted on the government's wide area networks (WAN), the local area networks (LAN), Campus Area Networks (CAN), Access and Control Interfaces (CI), Command and Telemetry and other networks that support multiple classification levels of communications.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI CI Poly Clearance
  • 8570 Compliance
  • 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master's and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years.
  • Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2

Responsibilities
  • Regularly support the technical assessment and delivery of a specific technical network solution to the customer
  • Provide a key support role in operating as a conducive high-performance team across all lifecycle stages
  • Provide technical direction and engineering expertise for Command and Telemetry solutions using KRATOS T500MX-XC or ARKA P&DB's (Packet & Data Buffers).A basic sysadmin understanding of Linux Operating system would also be acceptable.
  • An understanding of low speed RS422 serial communications to include RS533 electrical specifications and cabling
  • Provide technical direction and engineering expertise for network systems infrastructure activities, including planning, designing, and implementing communications and network infrastructure requirements for buildings and systems (Routers, Switches, BGP, VRF, VLAN, NTP)
  • Generate installation plans, procedures, templates, and training documentation, which will be used by other service team members to efficiently deploy Command and Telemetry solutions
  • Perform/Conduct the transition/transformation from existing to new network design solutions
  • Provide technical consulting and advice to others on efforts, solution design, system management, tuning and modification of solutions
  • Collect and determine data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements
  • Respond to requests for technical information from customers
  • Develop customer technology solutions using various industry products and technologies
