Job description

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team. This position is mostly remote in North Carolina with intermittent travel possible to Morrisville, NC.

Your Role in Our Mission
The Systems Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting ESPH's server, cloud, and identity infrastructure. This role ensures that all systems remain secure, reliable, and optimized to support organizational operations across multiple locations. Key responsibilities include managing virtualized environments, Microsoft cloud services, directory services, endpoint management platforms, and monitoring systems.
The Systems Administrator also serves as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting, complex technical issues, and infrastructure-related service requests. This position collaborates closely with Cyber Security, Networking, Service Desk, and other IT teams to ensure a strong technology foundation for the organization.
  • Manage and maintain the organization's virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Oversee application support as needed for enterprise systems and cloud-hosted platforms.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, uptime, alerts, and compliance across all managed systems
  • Implement and support security controls, patches, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Enforce best practices for identity, data governance, endpoint security, and configuration hardening.
  • Assist with strategic planning, technology evaluations, and process improvement efforts.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of professional systems administration or infrastructure experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft cloud technologies and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience administering Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with endpoint management, monitoring, and backup systems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts and automation to support system administration, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, root-cause troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and clear, concise communication abilities.
  • Certifications such as:
    • Microsoft (AZ-104, MS-102, SC-900/SC-300)
    • VMware or Hyper-V certifications
    • CompTIA Network+/Security+/CySA+
