Vice President of Purchasing - Pro AV Distribution
The Vice President of Purchasing leads all procurement, inventory planning, and vendor management activities for a $1B+ purchasing organization. This executive role is responsible for optimizing inventory turns, fill rates, working capital, and vendor profitability while ensuring product availability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead purchasing, inventory management, and demand planning strategies.
  • Manage inventory performance, including turns, fill rates, aging inventory, and stock availability.
  • Negotiate vendor rebates, MDF, growth incentives, and strategic purchasing agreements.
  • Build and maintain executive-level manufacturer relationships.
  • Drive profitability through inventory optimization, forecasting accuracy, and working capital management.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor purchasing and inventory teams.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Product Management, and Operations to support growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of purchasing, inventory, or supply chain leadership experience.
  • Proven success managing large-scale inventory investments and vendor partnerships.
  • Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in Pro AV, technology, or distribution environments preferred.

What we look for in a candidate:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years relevant purchasing and product management experience
  • Distribution experience, preferably in consumer electronics and/or appliance product industry
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel (advanced capabilities with these tools would be advantageous)
  • Driven and Motivated to continue to source products, drive the right product mix and management function at Almo.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with experience communicating across groups with varying degrees of technical background.
  • History of strong leadership to drive recruiting and build teams.
  • Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, the drive to make that vision a reality, and technically credible to lead teams with significant product expertise
  • Some travel is required
