Position Summary
This position reports to the Head Swimming and Diving coach and is responsible to assist in all phases of a competitive intercollegiate swimming program in compliance with NCAA, America East, and institutional rules and regulations.

Principal Accountabilities
  1. Effectively assist in coaching a competitive swimming program in a manner, which promotes sportsmanship among athletes, ensuring compliance with all NCAA conference, America East and institutional rules and regulations.
  2. Effectively assist in recruiting qualified student athletes to participate in the University's athletic program and effectively promote Bryant University academic and athletic programs to potential students.
  3. Ensure that players associated with the swimming program are eligible under NCAA and America East regulations.
  4. Assist in developing and implementing clinics and summer camps.
  5. Effectively review and monitor student athlete academic progress; counsel where appropriate and refer athletes to available University resources. Interact closely with advisors to monitor progress. Ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations. Maintain an electronic follow-up system.
  6. Establish and maintain good personal relationships with student athletes, parents, staff, guidance counselors, the Community and the media.
  7. Responsible for Pool Operations
  8. Adhere to NCAA rules compliance in and be fully informed regarding institutional compliance with the NCAA and America East rules.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
This position is best filled by an individual with an undergraduate degree and related collegiate swimming experience including successful recruiting, coaching and counseling student athletes. Knowledge and skill should also include experience in identifying collegiate swimmers. Experience motivating and supervising athletes and students, and a thorough understanding of and experience with NCAA and America East rules and regulations. The ability to manage multiple tasks is essential. Must have Pool Operator certification or willing to obtain. Knowledge of related computer applications is important. A valid driver's license is required for travel. This position has non-standard hours.
