ABOUT ONBOARD SPORTS ADVISORY (OSA)

Onboard Sports Advisory (OSA) is a strategic sports marketing consultancy advising global brands, rights-holders, and sports properties on commercial strategy, sponsorship valuation, activation frameworks, and performance measurement. Operating on the agency/advisory side, OSA provides objective, insight-driven advisement that helps senior leadership teams navigate complex decisions across sport, culture, and entertainment. Our work blends analytical rigor, creativity, and global experience to unlock growth and long-term partnership value.

ROLE SUMMARY 

The Specialist, Sports Marketing Strategy, is an integral member of the OSA team, supporting the development and execution of sports partnerships and marketing initiatives across client accounts.  

Reporting into the Director, Sports Marketing Strategy, this role will support day-to-day client servicing, partnership strategy development, activation planning, research, presentations, and cross-functional coordination across multiple projects and workstreams spanning global sports and entertainment properties, including the Olympic & Paralympic Games, FIFA, and other major sporting events. 

This position is ideal for someone passionate about sports, sponsorships, culture, and brand marketing who is eager to grow within a fast-paced agency and consulting environment. The Specialist will play an important role in helping ensure programs and deliverables are executed with a high level of professionalism, organization, creativity, and attention to detail. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Client & Partnership Support 

  • Support the development and execution of sports marketing and partnership strategies across multiple accounts.  
  • Assist in preparing client-facing presentations, agendas, status reports, meeting recaps, and strategic recommendations.  
  • Conduct research on sports sponsorship landscape, properties, athletes, cultural trends, technology innovations, and competitive partnerships.  
  • Help manage timelines, deliverables, and project trackers across multiple accounts and internal teams.  
  • Participate in internal and external client meetings by helping prep materials, capture detailed notes, and progress next steps.  
  • Support partnership activation planning and execution across experiential, digital, social, and content initiatives for some of the world's most visible brands. 
  • Assist in engaging sports properties relative to communications, partnership documentation, and asset tracking.  

Strategy & Activation Coordination  

  • Support the evaluation of sponsorship and partnership opportunities across the global sports and entertainment marketplace.  
  • Contribute to activation ideation and brainstorms rooted in brand objectives and audience insights.  
  • Assist in developing partnership presentations, measurement reports, and post-program analysis.  
  • Assist in coordinating large-scale experiential, ticketing, hospitality, and client servicing programs tied to major sporting events, helping ensure seamless guest experiences, stakeholder communication, and operational excellence.  

Agency & Team Collaboration  

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional agency teams including finance, creative, production, strategy, operations, talent, and experiential to support integrated client programs and partnership executions.  
  • Help manage communication, timelines, and deliverables across internal agency teams, clients, vendors, and rights-holder partners.  
  • Contribute to internal brainstorms, activation planning sessions, and creative development discussions across sports, entertainment, hospitality, and experiential projects.  
  • Support new business efforts through research, presentation development, and pitch preparations as needed.  
  • Participate in internal agency initiatives and team collaboration opportunities that contribute to the continued growth of OSA and broader OBE network.  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 1-2 years of experience in sports marketing, sponsorships, brand marketing, consulting, agency, or related fields preferred.  
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the global sports and entertainment landscape. 
  • Experience supporting client accounts, partnerships, activations, or events preferred.  
  • Familiarity with the sports industry 
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Excel, and project management tools.  
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally 
  • Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours 

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or related field preferred.

Compensation Range: $66,300 annually. This is the pay range OSA believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. OSA reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, Benefits include: medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid basic life and personal accident insurance.
