As aย Senior Software Developer, you will be creating prototypes and software design proposals that align future-state product and architecture vision. You will continue to improve core product build, CI/CD pipelines and overall SDLC. You will be a part of highly innovative team and represent in technical discussions with Tech Leads, Operations, Product/UX and external stakeholders.ย

What you will be doing:
  • Create prototypes and software design proposals that provide short-term business value while aligning with future-state product and architecture visionย 

  • Research and break down large initiatives into parallelizable chunks of work that provide incremental business value towards the end feature goalย 

  • Champion proposals into production through all phases of the Agile SDLC from design to implementationย 

  • Contribute to improving the core product build, CI/CD pipelines, and overall SDLCย 

  • Work with senior developers and architects to define and oversee the execution of the product architecture roadmapย 

  • Troubleshoot and eliminate persistent root causes for production issues that your product facesย 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experienceย 

  • Facilitate design discussions within and outside of the squadย 

  • Represent the team in technical discussions with Tech Leads, Operations, Product/UX, and external stakeholdersย 

  • Provide mentorship to the other developers on your team through design reviews, pair programming, and code reviewsย 

  • Keep technical documentation up to date and create new artifacts when requiredย 

  • Share knowledge on new technologies and industry best practices to build our coding standardsย 

What you will bring:
ย 

Experience building highly distributed microservice architecture using Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, and Gradleย 

  • Strong OOP skills, advocate for code quality, Design Patterns, and SOLID principlesย 

  • Experience with complex projects in the public cloud (AWS, ideally)ย 

  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions (or other tool)ย 

  • Creating and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functionsย 

  • Strong initiative to improve processes, tools, methodologies, and product qualityย 

  • Expertise with test-driven development, developing unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end testsย 

  • Experience with developing and working with thoughtfully designed HTTP APIs, such as REST or GraphQLย 

Agentic engineering and AI tools expectationsย 

As a member of this team, you are expected to integrate AI-assisted development into your daily workflow. This means using AI tools strategically to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and solve problems faster, while maintaining strong engineering judgment and accountability for all work that ships.ย 

  • Proficiently use inline code completion tools in your daily IDE workflowย 

  • Use conversational AI assistants for pair programming, design discussion, debugging, and documentationย 

  • Critically evaluate all AI-generated output before committing, verify correctness, security, and alignment with team standardsย 

  • Identify routine or well-scoped tasks as candidates for agentic automation, and propose improvements to your tools/workflows to support thisย 

  • Build feedback loops: document what worked, what failed, and why, to improve future agent performance and team understandingย 

  • Collaborate with your team to design and instrument AI-powered developer tooling; measure its impact on velocity and qualityย 

Nice to haves:ย 

  • SPA development using Angular/Typescriptย 

  • Experience with Serverless Frameworkย 

  • Experience with trunk-based developmentย 

  • Automated testing frameworks such Cypress, RestAssured, JMeterย 

  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing conceptsย 

  • Experience working within a large enterprise Monorepo codebase (NX preferred)ย 

  • Experience with container technologies, such as Docker. Ideally with container orchestration such as Kubernetes.ย

Salary Range:ย ย 

The annual base salary for this position is between $120,000 CAD and $140,000 CAD per year.ย 

This role is also eligible for discretionary bonus and/or commission, as well as other benefits. Actual pay within the listed range will be determined based on factors such as transferable skills, relevant experience, market conditions, and primary work location. The posted range is subject to change and may be updated periodically.
