Job description

  • ย Perform bookings for customers needing satellite space segments for occasional use transmissions
  • Investigate and resolve satellite reception issues through verbal diagnostics with customer. Create tickets for any equipment failure to facilitate shipping requests, track progress made and close out when issue has been resolved.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on scheduled broadcast events.
  • Required to participate in on-going training programs.
  • Work with other operations staff and other departments to provide operational assistance, diagnose problems, and avoid discrepancies.
  • Maintain client, vendor and partnership relationships.
  • Setup and authorize several different models of receivers and assist Cable TV affiliates in troubleshooting receive issues on our 24x7 Cable platform, using Commscope BNC Client.
  • Escalating requests for Dish service calls to dispatch technician for follow on issues unable to be resolved remotely
  • Authorizing services requested by customers to fulfill their simulcasting requirements
  • Perform checklists on remote transmission facilities to check for anomalies or trends that could cause on-air issu

  • A background in broadcast, satellite systems, radio or CATV environment is strongly desired.
  • Preferred experience working with digital satellite receivers, audio and video test and monitoring equipment, A/V patch bays, and other broadcast systems.
  • Microsoft Office suite of products and desktop operating system knowledge.
  • Must be available to work various schedules, including weekends, holidays and evenings/overnights.
  • Ability to obtain necessary gaming registration / license(s) needed for employment with RCN.
  • Must have a sense of urgency, organizational skills, self-motivation and be very reliable.
  • Computer literacy is essential to this position.
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized and be able to explain details clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
