Global – a 1st Flagship Company is currently looking for a Rigger Helper to join our team at Pearl Harbor.

What You'll Be Doing

Located in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Assist Riggers with routine rigging operations aboard ships and in shop environments, following the direction of the assigned Rigger.

Help select, inspect, check in and check out, and properly mark weight-handling equipment used for assigned tasks.

Assist with moving and positioning objects of various types and sizes using cranes, chain falls, rope falls, gin poles, shear legs, skids, rollers, jacks, and parbuckling methods.

Apply rigging safety precautions, terminology, and proper equipment-handling practices during all work evolutions.

Support safe small-boat operations; when assigned as Boat Coxswain, ensure riders and deckhands comply with personal protective equipment and safety requirements.

Assist in the receipt, mooring, and departure of vessels.

Follow environmental protection procedures and all applicable corporate safety policies.

Work professionally and effectively with employees, leadership, military personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives.

Support other trades or site evolutions when assigned and qualified to do so.

Work overtime when required to support company operations.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Requirements

At least one (1) year of experience working under the guidance of a Rigger, or relevant military experience.

Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, equipment, terminology, and safety practices of the rigging trade.

Basic to advanced math skills and working knowledge of rigging devices and their applications, small-boat operations, and crane signaling.

Ability to read English at a high school level and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

Valid driver's license and ability to qualify to operate government and company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Fleet Vehicle Safety Manual.

Ability to successfully complete an extensive background check.

Required Qualifications/Certifications

The selected candidate must satisfactorily complete the following qualifications and certifications within the timeframes specified in the offer letter:

NAVFAC P-307 Crane Rigger Course

Workboat Operator qualification

Forklift Operator qualification

Preferred Requirements

Maritime or U.S. Navy rigging experience.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to handle weights up to 100 pounds, regularly handle an average of 50 pounds, and carry materials up to 200 feet.

Ability to climb vertical and inclined ladders and work briefly in strained positions, including kneeling, stooping, bending, squatting, and maneuvering in close quarters.

Ability to work approximately 75% outdoors and 25% indoors, including in extreme summer heat, inclement weather, poor illumination, and noisy environments.

Ability to work around sharp edges, fall hazards, hazardous chemicals and conditions, electrical chain falls, mechanical equipment, and marine industrial operations.

Ability to work primarily with others in a moderate-paced environment, with short periods of high activity during severe weather, power outages, or ship movements.
