Job description

Objective

Perform multiple duties with regard to installing pipe, checking lines and grade on pipes in trenches, and handles the pipe as needed to prepare for installation and backfilling.

Responsibilities

·         Install storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water mains.

·         Knowledge of line and grade.

·         Setting, finishing and adjusting storm, water and sewer structures

·         Assembly and installation of main line piping, force main, water main, sanitary gravity sewer, etc. 

·         Assist in rigging of pipe and pipe assemblies for installation in trenches, vaults and manholes 

·         Using lasers and grade rods

·         The ability to read blueprints is a plus

Requirements

 

·         High school diploma preferred

·         Must have valid ID and reliable transportation to work daily 

·         Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

·         Must have 3 years minimum experience

·         Experience installing storm sewer & sanitary sewer

·         Experience assembling and installing ductile iron pipe fittings, valves and appurtenances. 

·         Experience installing drainage and sewer structures and connections. 

·         Knowledge setting up and using pipe lasers, transits and levels, survey stakes, line and grade. 

·         Experience testing  water and sewer systems with air and hydrostatic tests a plus

·         Experience with shoring systems including trench shields, sheet piling and other mechanical shoring systems a plus
