Part-Time Rigging Instructor

Location: Brownsville, TX
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Hours Vary Based on Class Schedule

Careers of America is seeking an experienced Rigging Instructor to join our team at our Port of Brownsville training facility. This position is ideal for an experienced rigging professional who is passionate about sharing industry knowledge and helping prepare the next generation of skilled craftsmen for successful careers in the workforce.

Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to work with the right candidate who possesses strong rigging knowledge, industry experience, and a commitment to student success.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on rigging instruction.
  • Prepare students for NCCER module exams and industry-recognized credentials.
  • Demonstrate proper rigging techniques, safety practices, and equipment use.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and productive learning environment.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback and guidance.
  • Assist with practical assessments and skills evaluations.
  • Ensure training is conducted in accordance with company and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Rigging experience required.
  • NCCER Rigging certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of rigging safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to students.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience is a plus.

Schedule

This position offers a flexible schedule. Instruction hours will vary based on class offerings, student enrollment, and training needs and may include daytime, evening, or weekend classes.
