Job description

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Department: Project Delivery
Reports to: Project Manager, Project Delivery or Director, Project Delivery
Location: Madison, WI
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Objective:
The Assistant Project Manager will be supporting the execution of projects, starting with the engineering and procurement phase, and leading up to commercial operation. Qualifying candidates will have a demonstrated track record of success in working cohesively across several project support functions including development, engineering, construction, and finance to meet scheduled project completion dates.

Responsibilities:
โ€ข Coordinating and supporting multiple project schedules, budgets, and financial requirements with competing deadlines and resources across companywide functional teams.
โ€ข Working with engineers and project managers to document product or contractor specifications and work scopes during planning stages.
โ€ข Assisting Project Manager(s) with submittal compilation, purchase orders, on-site job walk-throughs, change orders request for information, pay application support and close-out documents.
โ€ข Preparing project controls, budget setup, schedules of values/billing mechanisms, and maintain each in at the direction of the Project Manager(s).
โ€ข Providing steady and reliable communication while also managing complicated schedules, budgets, contractors, people, risks, and other resources.
โ€ข Assisting in ensuring all safety, quality, and environmental policies of the Company and project owners are followed by all project personnel.

Requirements:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Construction Management or Engineering.
โ€ข 2+ years of experience supporting operations, engineering or construction.
โ€ข Solar engineering or construction experience preferred, but not required.
โ€ข Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.
โ€ข Self-motivated and self -starter, with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
โ€ข Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
โ€ข Must possess strong quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills.

โ€ข Working knowledge with Microsoft Office/365 is a 'must', project management, and CRM software such as Salesforce a plus.
โ€ข Must have a "roll up your sleeves and let's get the job done right" type attitude.
โ€ข Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
โ€ข Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain. Position requires frequent travel, up to 1-2 weeks per month or about 20% of working time; must carry an active driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Compensation: $65,000-$85,000 (Exempt)
