Position Overview:
We're looking for a driven, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our high-performing team. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role is a critical position responsible for planning and executing projects based on client and stakeholder needs and goals.
You'll serve as a central point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring all moving parts come together to deliver on time, on budget, and above expectations. Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
  • Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders to manage project details and deliverables.
  • Oversee submittal review and submission processes.
  • Review drawings, identify conflicts, and submit RFIs for clarification.
  • Create and manage meeting agendas, lookaheads, and minutes of meetings (MOM).
  • Perform take-offs for basic construction divisions and solicit bids.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and utilize resources to predict and manage issues.
  • Plan and implement projects, outlining and undertaking creative next steps.
  • Perform all other duties needed to help drive the vision, fulfill our mission, and meet client expectations.

Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Establish and maintain clear communication with clients, team members, senior leadership, and contractors to ensure timely planning and execution of customer needs.
  • Manage the onboarding of projects, including setting up meetings, drafting invoices, drawing invoices, and seeking and selecting contract estimates.
  • Monitor project progress and distribute periodic progress reports to leadership.

Technical Oversight
  • Review and analyze construction documents, blueprints, and specifications for accuracy and constructability.
  • Maintain a comprehensive risk registry, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise.

Execution, Financials, & Operations
  • Work closely to support the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate delivery of cost review reports, budget updates, and all related financial documentation.
  • Ensure all project financial submissions, including purchase orders and expense receipts, are completed correctly and submitted promptly.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 2+ years of experience in project management.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to meet set goals, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Skilled at multitasking and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial construction process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure with supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to escalate and resolve issues as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of navigating conflict and managing client expectations.
  • The ability to take criticism constructively.
  • Effective delegator who fosters accountability while overseeing high-level project progress.

Preferred:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field highly encouraged. Experience in a relevant field can apply as well.
