Job description

Are you an aspiring Assistant Project Manager with experience working on large scale rail transit projects? If so, we would love to hear from you! You will be responsible for structural scope of an exciting GO Transit project.
You will be required to work out of our site office in Oshawa, Ontario.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project
  • Implement the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to ensure adherence to Ledcor's HS&E standards, as well as compliance with applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes by all employees and subcontractors involved in the project
  • Develop and maintain the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression.
  • Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets
  • Manage the procurement process including subcontractor/trade/supplier negotiations and awards
  • Ensure that the quality of materials and workmanship meet or exceed standards identified in approval documents
  • Maintain and track billings, reports and projections and implements trade awards and construction work within financial targets and constraints
  • Review design and construction documents for constructability and value engineering and provide feedback to client

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of civil construction experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager is required
  • Completion of post-secondary education in civil engineering or a related field is required
  • Project experience working on rail transit in live corridors, highways, bridges, roads, grading and other structural infrastructure projects is required
  • Experience working on large scale infrastructure project for a General Contractor in Canada
  • Professional Engineer license in the Province of Ontario is an asset
  • Prior experience in assisting with design and construction in an active rail corridor; specifically on structural portions of heavy civil projects including but not limited to steel, concrete, columns, beams, all other associated elements for buildings, bridges and other structures
  • Strong knowledge of Design-Build or Collaborative Contract models is an asset
  • Demonstrated exposure to project controls, progress tracking and reporting is essential
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Word and Excel, in addition Heavy Bid and Primavera would be preferred
  • Effective communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form

Compensation

$97,200.00 - $129,600.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
