Position Overview
Join our team as a Project Coordinator, a pivotal role where you will actively contribute to the successful delivery of complex energy projects across Canada. This position combines hands-on field leadership with strategic project management tasks to ensure projects meet their safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets. You will serve as a central liaison among engineering teams, construction personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration to drive project milestones forward. This role offers the opportunity to be deeply involved in multiple facets of project execution, making a significant impact on the timely and efficient completion of large-scale industrial initiatives.
District Overview

Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of "partnering", working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. Location
This position requires flexibility to travel where the work is located, including fly-in/fly-out assignments across Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
Field Leadership:
  • Direct and supervise subcontractor operations on-site to guarantee adherence to strict safety and quality protocols.
  • Lead comprehensive field inspections, execute safety audits, and conduct routine site walkthroughs to maintain high standards.
  • Manage coordination of materials, workflow logistics, and site organization to optimize project execution.
Project Coordination:
  • Develop, refine, and manage detailed work packages in close cooperation with engineering and construction departments.
  • Maintain and update project schedules, monitor financial budgets, and control scope to align with project goals.
  • Oversee delivery and management of crucial project documentation including design specs, as-built records, and turnover reports.
Technical & Administrative Duties:
  • Review plans and specifications to identify potential risks and clarify technical details.
  • Conduct material quantification and procurement activities, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Support commissioning phases and manage effective resolution of punch-list items.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
  • Track departmental expenses and assist with budget forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and contribute to refinement of operational best practices and processes.
Qualifications
  • Applicants should possess a technical degree or demonstrate equivalent professional experience in mechanical, electrical, structucal or piping disciplines.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in project coordination or field supervision within industrial construction or energy sectors is required.
  • Strong organizational abilities and effective communication skills are essential for managing multiple simultaneous priorities.
  • Experience with project execution methodologies, scheduling software, and cost control procedures is highly valuable.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel or relocate as project demands dictate; flexible fly-in/fly-out arrangements are offered. #LI-IS1
Working Conditions

Working Conditions:
This role primarily involves work at construction and industrial project sites, which require adherence to strict health and safety regulations and protocols. The position demands a high level of physical activity, including site inspections and travel between various locations. Work hours may vary depending on project phases, occasionally necessitating extended shifts or weekend presence to meet project deadlines. Base Compensation: $80,000/yr - $110,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
