Position Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project, managing a team of field and cost engineers. Do you have strong interpersonal and information management skills?  In this role, you will be the main conduit of information between the construction manager and the team for cost, revenue, cash flow information. Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all phases of the project, including design schedule tracking and integration between disciplines
  • Manage project revenue, costs, cash flow, and job cost tracking/forecastingLead project engineering on moderately complex projects, including temporary engineering requirements
  • Manage permanent design, quality control, and overall design coordination
  • Administer and manage contracts and subcontracts, including responsibility for design subcontracts
  • Assist in operations and production planning
  • Train and support field and office engineers in accurate submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
  • Develop and implement project control plans
  • Oversee and maintain the overall job schedule
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage project closeout activities
  • May manage and mentor other Project Engineers
Qualifications
  • Ability to travel 
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years' work experience in construction
  • Experience managing engineers
  • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail

Base Compensation: $90,000/yr - $120,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
