Job description

OVERVIEW Entry-level project engineer to work in a team environment to assist project engineers and senior project engineers in the design and develop of commercial and industrial HVAC, piping and plumbing systems. Work under the direction of a (senior) professional engineer to perform such tasks as load calculations, energy simulations, equipment selections and duct/piping/plumbing layouts. The candidate will also be required to utilize Revit 2017 or higher to develop design and permit documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES Perform load calculation inputs and simulations. Work with project engineers to interpret load calculations and select equipment. Assist project engineers in performing life-cycle cost analysis among system alternatives to determine energy impacts of each alternative and assist in system selection.

Coordinate mechanical requirements with architects, electrical, structural & civil engineers Possess the ability to perform duties with little direction, but with the resources available to complete the tasks as required. Prioritize the workload to identify and complete critical-path items in a timely manner consistent with the job schedule. Develop HVAC documents including, but not limited to, duct sizing & routing, air distribution selection, pipe sizing & routing.

Develop plumbing documents, including but not limited to, sanitary and vent sizing, domestic cold water and hot water sizing and pipe routings. Utilize Revit 2018 (or higher) to support job responsibilities and document development. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in engineering At least 1 of year experience in the commercial/industrial HVAC field or consulting engineering.

At least 1 year of experience in design and development of mechanical and plumbing system layouts and/or responsibility for project management for these systems. Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Mechanical Engineering degree. Passed the Engineer in Training exam (EIT).

Experience with Revit 2018 or higher. Elementary knowledge of the mechanical and plumbing codes. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil and structural trade drawings.

Ability to visualize three-dimensional layouts from two-dimensional drawings. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to detail and deadlines.

Commitment to taking and successfully passing the EIT exam if not yet completed. Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance. Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.

Must project a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment No or very limited exposure to physical risk. No or very limited physical effort required.
