Job description

SEG is seeking a Project Administrator to join our team in Hamilton, Virginia.
This is an entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or someone interested in beginning a career in the construction industry. Previous construction experience is not required-we are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to grow.
The Project Administrator works alongside SEG's Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Administration Manager, providing administrative support while learning the processes and documentation involved in managing federal construction projects.
What You'll Do
  • Maintain organized project files, records, correspondence, and documentation
  • Upload, organize, distribute, and track project documents in Procore
  • Assist with project logs and tracking outstanding documentation
  • Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and project correspondence
  • Collect and organize project closeout documentation
  • Collect and maintain required subcontractor and vendor documentation
  • Follow up with subcontractors and vendors for outstanding paperwork
  • Assist with government and contract compliance documentation
  • Support the Project Administration Manager with subcontract, purchase order, invoice, and change-order documentation
  • Organize drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and other project records
  • Provide general administrative support to the Project Management team

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Communications, English, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn construction terminology, project documentation, and federal contracting requirements
  • Previous administrative or construction experience is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Procore or other construction management software is a plus

What You'll Learn
This position is designed to provide hands-on exposure to the construction industry. You'll receive training on SEG's processes, Procore, construction documentation, subcontractor coordination, and federal contracting requirements while working directly with experienced members of our Project Management team.

SEG is a small, growing construction company specializing in commercial, institutional, civil, and federal government construction. We work on projects throughout the DMV region for federal clients, including agencies such as GSA, NPS, and USACE.
