Job description

Jennie Joiner with Forum Group PNW is partnering with a well-established, multi-state manufacturing organization to hire an Accountant II based in Eugene, Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to join a financially strong and growing company that is investing in the future of its accounting and finance function. This position is ideal for an experienced Staff Accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career into more of a Senior Accountant role. Working closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and CFO, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while expanding your technical skills and taking on projects that will prepare you for future advancement. If you're looking for an opportunity to move beyond transactional accounting and grow into a more senior-level role, this position offers the mentorship, visibility, and variety to help you get there.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join a stable, privately owned manufacturing organization with a long history of success.
  • Work alongside an experienced leadership team committed to your professional growth.
  • Expand your experience in financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement.
  • Gain exposure to audit preparation and strengthening internal accounting processes.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture that values initiative and continuous improvement.
  • Modern office environment with outstanding employee amenities and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
  • Analyze financial results and research account variances.
  • Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with process improvements and workflow enhancements.
  • Support audit preparation and financial review activities.
  • Participate in ERP and reporting improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to support business operations.
  • Cross-train and provide support across multiple accounting functions.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Associate degree with relevant accounting experience will also be considered.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Exposure to audit support or public accounting is a plus.
  • Manufacturing, inventory, cost accounting, or product-based industry experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience working within an ERP system.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an accounting professional who has built a solid accounting foundation and is eager to continue growing. This is an excellent opportunity for a Staff Accountant ready to expand into more complex accounting responsibilities or for someone coming out of public accounting looking to transition into industry. The ideal candidate enjoys learning, asks thoughtful questions, takes initiative, and wants to contribute beyond their daily responsibilities. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced finance leaders, participate in special projects, strengthen accounting processes, and continue developing your technical accounting skills in a supportive environment. If you're looking for a role where you can broaden your experience, increase your visibility, we'd love to connect with you.
